## Our aim
We want NixQuest to be usable by as many people as possible, including people using assistive technology (screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom, or reduced-motion settings). Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
## What we do
- We run automated accessibility checks (using axe-core) as part of our continuous integration pipeline, on every change to the app.
- Interactive elements (buttons, forms, the code editor, the lesson player) are built to be operable by keyboard and to work with screen readers where technically feasible.
- We review color contrast and motion against WCAG 2.2 AA when we design new pages or components.
## Known limitations
NixQuest includes an interactive code editor and an in-browser Nix evaluation environment. Fully equivalent screen-reader and keyboard support for a code-editing experience is an ongoing effort, and some parts of the lesson player may not yet meet Level AA in full. We are working to close these gaps, and automated checks alone cannot catch every issue — manual testing and user feedback matter too.
This statement covers the NixQuest web application (course pages, lessons, settings). It does not cover third-party content we link to.
## Feedback and contact
If you encounter an accessibility barrier while using NixQuest, or you need information in a different format, please contact us:
Email: {{EMAIL}}
Please tell us the page or lesson you were on, what assistive technology (if any) you were using, and what happened — this helps us reproduce and fix the issue. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports promptly, though this is a small, single-operator project without a guaranteed response time (see the beta terms of use).
## This statement
We review and update this statement as the application and our testing practices evolve. The current version carries the version date shown above.
